SEA holds beach cleanups in the spring to collect debris that has collected on PEI shores over the winter. We will be organizing cleanups again this spring, so if you know of areas where there is a lot of garbage, please let us know. If you would like to volunteer, please feel free to get in touch with us!!! #seabeachcleanups ... See MoreSee Less

On April 15th the PEI Rec Fishing season opened and SEA was out bright and early doing creel surveys in a number of rivers in the area. We want to thank those anglers who took the time to talk to us and answer a few questions. We will also be hosting two Volunteer Saturdays where people can come out to help with river restoration activities. If you would like to volunteer, please let us know - information about dates and times will be posted on our website (sea@pei.aibn.com) and Facebook page in the coming months.

SEA has devoted the past few summers to restoring streams, rivers and tributaries creating even more favorable habitat for fish to thrive. We have also partnered with local schools to offer the Fish Friends Program in collaboration with the Abegweit Biodiversity Enhancement Hatchery. In recognition of this work, we wanted to share this notice coming up on April 21st to celebrate World Fish Migration Day - Connecting fish, rivers and people!! Happy angling!! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦οΈπŸŸ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦οΈπŸŸ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŸοΈ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŸοΈ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŸοΈ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŸ πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŸ

Southeast Environmental Association shared Harvey Moore Wildlife Sanctuary c/o SEA's post.

This Canada goose was found emaciated and wandering around Charlottetown in January. Luckily, concerned resident, Liz Hennessey, notified the Atlantic Veterinary College . AVC took it into their care and nursed it back to health over the winter. Not wanting to release the goose near the busy streets of Charlottetown, it was decided that the Sanctuary would be a perfect spot for it to call home. After slowly exiting the crate, it didn’t take this bird too long to join the others! Welcome to the Sanctuary β€œOliver.” ***The geese will be mating soon, so if you are visiting the Sanctuary with your dog, it is mandatory to keep them on a leash at all times. ... See MoreSee Less
